The Belgian theme park Plopsa Coo Ardennes, which is located in the Ardennes region in the south of Belgium, will open a brand new area which will host three new attractions and one relocated attraction. The new area, themed to Maya The Bee, will cost around 4 million euros.
Old labyrinth
The new zone will be located where the old labyrinth once stood, in the back of the park. The area will cover 5000 m². Included in this area will be 3 new attractions and a relocated attraction. The new Maya Zone will also be home to a new food stand.
First Wild Swing in the Benelux
The area which will be home to 3 brand new rides. These include a Swinging tree and a freefall tower, which both will be constructed by Zierer. The third new attraction will be a first for the Benelux. A Wild Swing constructed by ART Engineering. This ride type can already be found in multiple German, Austrian and French parks.
A Wild Swing is a swing which resembles the popular Top-Spin, but family friendly. The ride has gained popularity in the last few years, with a notable installation being “Wilde Gautsche” in Tripsdrill, Germany.
Studio 100 character
The zone will revolve around Maya The Bee (“Maya De Bij” in Dutch). This studio 100 character already has zones in two Plopsa parks and has four theme parks, these being the Majaland parks.
“The Studio 100 character Maya The Bee fits perfectly in the philosophy of the park that is located in the middle of nature. It was obvious to push further on this subject. At Plopsa we constantly strive to improve the visitor expirience. With this investment, we want to put Plopsa Coo Ardennes on the map as the thing to do when going on a family trip. We look forward to welcoming our visitors soon in the new Maya zone and let them enjoy even more beautiful moments.”
- Carl Lenaerts, CEO Plopsa
The new zone will open in 2025.
